What do the bars mean?
The bars on the upper right corner of the screen indicate the accuracy of your location (similar to your GPS signal strength). Location accuracy is often much better outside than it is inside buildings. The dot indicates whether your last group update was successful. It will blink dark green after each update, or will turn yellow or red if your Internet connectivity has been interrupted. Also, on the map view, touching the bars will select your icon on the map.
